- The UrbanArtt Civic SCS clamp might look familiar, with the origins of the new Civic SCS clamp inspired from the previous Cyro and Primo clamps, but this baby, in time, will create its own identity and forge its own reputation as a rock solid, modern reliable clamp that won’t let you down. The UrbanArtt SCS is a SCS compression system. The UrbanArtt SCS clamp is a full size SCS because it is slightly larger than a baby SCS but provides maximum clamping power. The UrbanArtt SCS only works with SCS bars without a slit. While SCS compression is more expensive than other compression systems, it is the most effective compression system you can put on a pro scooter. The UrbanArtt SCS clamp includes a shim and works with both oversized and standard outer diameter PRO SCOOTER BARS without a slit. The UrbanArtt Civic SCS includes M8 bolts for maximum clamping power. M8 bolts are much less likely to strip than M6 bolts. It is a good practice with any compression bolt to tighten each bolt 1/2 turn at a time, one bolt at a time, until all bolts are completely tight. The UrbanArtt SCS works with the SCS compression ONLY.

Scooter compression is the single most important concept to understand when building a scooter. Your compression system drives which parts you will need to purchase in order to complete your scooter. Contrary to popular belief, not all scooter parts are compatible with each other. In fact, most of them are not.
SCS COMPRESSION
SCS compression is the most effective compression on the market. The downsides are cost and weight but, if you want to keep your scooter dialed without ever having to tighten your clamp, SCS is the way to go. When running SCS compression, you will need bars without a slit. Most SCS’s come with a shim so they will work with either diameter. However, if your SCS doesn’t come with a shim, ensure that the diameter of the SCS works with the diameter of your bars. SCS compression will also require the use of SCS forks.
HIC COMPRESSION
HIC compression is a popular option among pro riders. While it is not quite as effective as SCS, it costs a lot less and is a popular option for those riders who want the lightest setup. If you are running HIC compression, you will need an HIC kit, oversized bars without a slit, and an oversized double clamp (or a clamp with a shim).
IHC COMPRESSION
IHC compression has become one of the more popular types of compression, as the compression system is built directly into the forks. That means that you just need compatible bars and clamp. Pick up a clamp with a shim, which will work with either oversized or standard bars. You can run either oversized or standard diameter bars with IHC forks as long as they have a slit. But the steel bars need to have an oversized inner and outer diameter. Aluminum bars just need to have a slit .
